The Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Monday confirmed the appointments of 17 out of 18 nominees forwarded by Governor Abdullahi Sule for leadership positions across the state’s Area Administrative Councils.
The confirmation followed the screening of the nominees during plenary in Lafia, presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau.
However, the House stepped down the confirmation of Mr. Bashir Zubairu, nominated as the Administrator for the Farin Ruwa Area Administrative Council, without stating a reason.
Speaker Jatau congratulated the appointees and urged them to uphold transparency, integrity, and service in the discharge of their responsibilities once sworn in.
“The expectations of the people are high. I urge you all to live above board and justify the confidence reposed in you,” Jatau stated.
