The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 39-year-old Best Orji for allegedly defiling his two biological daughters, aged 12 and 14.
The case was reported on April 30, 2025, by the children’s mother, according to Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.
During a press briefing at Command headquarters in Ikeja yesterday, Hundeyin stated that the complainant alleged her husband committed the act in the Suru-Lere area of Lagos. “Upon receiving the report, police swiftly apprehended the suspect. A medical examination was conducted on the victims at a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC),” Hundeyin said.
Following investigation, Orji was arraigned in court on May 9, 2025, to face charges of defilement under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The Command, under the leadership of CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has reiterated its commitment to reducing crime in the state, assuring residents and visitors of continued optimal deployment of human and operational resources across Lagos.
