“Did You See Any Discord?” – Sanwo-Olu Dismisses Tinubu Rift Rumours After Lagos Meeting

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has dismissed as unfounded recent rumours suggesting a rift between him and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday after a courtesy visit to the President in Lagos, Sanwo-Olu addressed the swirling speculations, firmly denying any discord with the nation’s leader.

“Did you see any discord?” the governor asked with a smile. “Can’t you see—even you, you are smiling, I am smiling. There is none.”

Sanwo-Olu criticised those promoting the narrative of conflict, describing them as individuals who often exaggerate situations for attention. “You know, there are people who believe they are more Catholic than the Pope. There are times that you see people crying more than the bereaved,” he added.

Reaffirming his allegiance and admiration for President Tinubu, the governor described their relationship as one built on trust, respect, and mentorship.

“You know, father and son—these are things that we always ensure are clear. There is nothing at all. He is my father, he is my leader, and we are grateful that he gave us audience today to come in and say hello to him,” Sanwo-Olu said.

Also in attendance were Sanwo-Olu’s deputy, Obafemi Hamzat; Obasa and his deputy, Mojisola Meranda; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; among other powerbrokers in Lagos politics.
